Gunter Wehmeyer has been an active participant in slowLab since 2008, lending new directionality to our slow design projects. As part of slowLab's Advisory Collective, Wehmeyer is applying his professional expertise and mentorship skills to enable new design strategies and extend slowLab's network within his fields of urbanism and business consulting.
Wehmeyer has a German Dipl.Ing. in Landscape Planning/Urban Design. Since 2003, he has worked predominanty in China, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong and London on XXL urban design, infrastructure, landscape and master planning projects. He aims to bridge the gap between Megacity urbanization, Sustainability strategies and overall large scale design concepts. More recently, Wehmeyer has worked to bridge that experience with his concern for sustainable design development and social innovation.
Together with his partner Judith van den Boom, he leads Studio BoomWehmeyer, an international studio that embraces "a deeper people approach attitude" for creating new forms of multidisciplinary communication and collaborative cultural exchange. Wehmeyer focuses on strategic design thinking to initiate new options for the transformation of design and processes, illustrating BoomWehmeyer's commitment to changing the design environment for the better.
